RFA PETROLEUM 1905-1937

GRT 4686. DWT 6100. Built 1903 by Swan Hunter as the world's biggest tanker.. Single screw triple expansion. Coal/Oil bunkers. Bought by Admiralty 1905, "to be used to follow the Atlantic Fleet and refuel battleships over the bow whilst being towed." The first RAS Tanker. War service at Scapa Flow. Scrapped 1936.
